Our Mission
To establish the Chamarel School of Music — a dedicated space where young Mauritians can learn traditional instruments, understand the history of reggae and seggae, and develop their musical talents in a culturally rich environment.
This is more than a music school. It’s a cultural preservation project, a youth empowerment initiative, and a community hub for creativity and expression.

Our Goals
What we’re working to achieve
Build the School
Construct a dedicated facility in Chamarel with practice rooms, recording studio, performance space, and classrooms equipped with instruments and technology.
Free Music Education
Provide free or subsidized music lessons to youth who cannot afford private instruction. No child should be denied access to music because of money.
Train Instructors
Hire and train professional musicians to teach reggae, seggae, traditional Mauritian music, and modern production techniques.
Preserve Culture
Document and teach the history of Kaya, Georges Corette, and other pioneers. Create an archive of Mauritian music history.
Performance Opportunities
Organize regular student concerts, open mic nights, and collaborations with professional artists to build confidence and experience.
Community Impact
Use music as a tool for social change, keeping youth engaged, building self-esteem, and creating positive community bonds.
